Stadtinsel eV is a non-profit organization based in Hamburg, Germany, that operates various diaconal projects aimed at supporting individuals and families affected by poverty and social exclusion. Founded in 2007 by members of the Elim Church Hamburg, the organization's vision is to create social and diaconal projects that provide support, encouragement, and practical help to people in need.
The organization focuses on helping children and young people, who are disproportionately affected by poverty in Hamburg, with a record-high poverty rate of 20.8% in 2022. Stadtinsel eV also supports refugees and their families who have made Hamburg their new home. The organization recognizes that poverty is not just about hunger and inadequate housing but also about social exclusion, lack of access to education, and limited participation in cultural and social life. This makes them provide various programs and services, including a children's club, a trauma-informed art therapy program for refugee children, academic support for children, and a food and clothing distribution center in collaboration with the Hamburg Food Bank. But what more can they do? Well, you'll be surprised. They also offer a youth club for teenagers who have outgrown the children's club.
Stadtinsel eV is run mostly by volunteers committed to making a difference in the lives of people in need. The organization works closely with other churches and organizations in Hamburg to maximize its impact and reach more people in need. Their ultimate goal is to provide a supportive environment where people can develop the strength and hope they need to overcome the challenges of their daily lives.
I couldn't be more proud of what Stadtinsel eV has done in the lives of both young and old. So, right now I urge you to donate to this body and bless the lives of those in need. Your donations are about to transform lives and provide hope to those facing hardships in one way or another.
Will you be supporting them through your giving? I hope you do.
